Short Description

Dantech has an exciting opportunity for an AWS Solutions Architect to join their team of AWS consultants for a potentially long term engagement with a large scale financial Client. The engagement involves supporting various application teams as the subject matter Cloud Architect, assisting with development, solutioning, and modernization, evangelizing and implementing AWS best practice, and shepherding architectures through the architecture review board processes. The ideal candidate will have an AWS Professional Solutions Architect certification and 2+ years of experience in migrating solutions to AWS Cloud.

Required Skills/Years of Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
• 5+ years of experience overall AWS public cloud
• 5+ years of experience with solutioning Java workloads in AWS
• 5+ years of experience working across teams
• 5+ years of experience applying outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• 5+ years of experience participating in Agile Scrum activities
• 3+ years of experience with RDBMS and NoSQL repositories
• 3+ years of experience with web services
• 3+ years of experience with JEE design patterns
• 3+ years of experience in deploying Cloud solutions to Production environments
• 3+ years of experience in tuning Java applications
• 3+ years of experience with enterprise logging and monitoring tools
• 3+ years of experience diagramming AWS architectures
• 3+ years of experience securing AWS Cloud solutions
• 3+ years of experience scaling AWS Cloud solutions

Dantech has an exciting opportunity for an AWS Solutions Architect to join their team of AWS consultants for a potentially long term engagement with a large scale financial Client. The engagement involves supporting various application teams as the subject matter Cloud Architect, assisting with development, solutioning, and modernization, evangelizing and implementing AWS best practice, and shepherding architectures through the architecture review board processes. The ideal candidate will have an AWS Professional Solutions Architect certification and 2+ years of experience in migrating solutions to AWS Cloud.

The AWS Solutons Architect will be tasked to:

• Become a trusted in-house AWS Architecture resource
• Avoid being an ivory tower architect; be hands-on, communicative, and accessible
• Make security and delivery a priority
• Learn and embrace the organizational architecture guidelines and standards
• Adhere to the existing architecture processes
• Attend and actively participate in organizational architecture meetings and events
• Support and advance applications teams to achieve highly available, elastic, well-architected, cloud-first solutions
• Work with key stakeholders, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional requirements for solutioning, sustainment, and growth, while prioritizing security and availability
• Architect for technology reuse, implement scalable security approaches and optimize cloud usage
• Ensure adherence to defined AWS best practices, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, software design practices, and architecture strategy and intent
• Partner with customers to understand the scope of work, priorities, and requirements
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications and/or remediate issues
• Analyze, design, document, and deploy requirements for networking, security, monitoring, performance, data, workflow, logical processes, and workload environments
• Analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility
• Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions
• Own architecture design and documentation; communicate decisions to individuals implementing those decisions or who will feel the impacts of those decisions
• Shepherd assigned architectures through the architecture review processes
• Revise and update architectures and documentation to meet modified or changed requirements
• Improve the solutioning delivered by the application teams through guidance, advise, and counseling
• Participate in Dantech meetings, as requested
• Submit weekly timesheets for approval
• Deliver and present architecture documents and presentations, as requested
• Provide status to Dantech Leadership on progress, as requested
